If you ever happened to go to a place with a bit of history and tales folks talk about, be wary about it. Chances are there could be taboo about late hours rambling or shopping. Also don’t be explicit about the folklore in public places cause locals do not like visitors taking about it.
For example Ballarat is a city located on the Harrower River in the Central Highlands of Victoria, Australia with a population of 101,588 people. Rumour has it that thirteen people were executed at the Ballarat Gaol and locals swear the spirits of seven criminals still haunt the grounds. The Ballarat Ghost Tours operate nightly.

The Tower of London too shares its place in the mystery chronicles. This 11th century structure was once a royal residence and prison, having seen centuries of death, destruction and torture, so it should come to no surprise that it’s one of the world’s most haunted castles.

Houska Castle a thirteenth century Gothic palace approximately 30 miles north of Prague too has a rather unusual tale about it. Legend has it that this structure was built around a bottomless hole which was believed to be the ‘Gateway to Hell’, and since it was constructed to ward off demons no one ever lived there, but locals claim they have seen demonic creatures flying around the grounds, and a woman in white has been spotted at the window.
That’s to keep your vacation in good spirits.
There are many other locations with history of paranormal activity, and their privacy is to be respected, as photography at odd hours may not be allowed and it is better to follow local customs.
