While we begin to recover from the shock of the recent Corona virus outbreak that has claimed thousands of lives world wide, our minds are now hazy with too much of rest and the inability to go outside for a casual walk or do some mundane outdoor chore to help a family member as you may run the risk of being arrested for breaking lockdown laws.
Most of us believe that this pandemic Covid19 virus outbreak is another nightmare just like the stock market crash of 2008 which seemed so unreal, but the reality of which could only be comprehened by those who had lost their homes due to subprime mortgage buildup. So also now the reality of this outbreak can only be comprehened though feedback from people infected and from news about people we knew before and are no more now.
Some of us remain in perpetual distrust of the society around us, as to why were we not informed in advance by various news heralds around the world, who claim to everesdrop even over caterpillar’s chatter, so that we could have taken that much intended decision about a family situation or postponed buying the second which we use only for Sunday outings.
Still we wait for this stormy episode to pass while maintaining social distancing, observing recommended safety norms such as washing your hands, using a tissue for coughs, avoid touching your face and reacting to symptoms such as high temperature, cough, breathing difficulties by calling up 999 emergency for a immediate checkup and getting quarantined.
As of now travelling across to that much sought after vacation, is strictly a no no, though in fact we are already inducted into an involuntary vacation of some sort by keeping to ourselves at home.
You could call it a planning stage or a stage of making hay while the world has frozen, by making plans about the places you could visit as news has come in that due to world wide inactivity, the pollution levels have come down and lakeside vacations are turning to be adorable.
I could imagine myself sitting on a cable deck and watching the sun set over a gorgeous lake, or paddling in a canoe during the early mornings with my mate, along the Maine’s Millinocket Lake.

Another lake that would cross my mind would be Lake Tahoe with a 22 mile shoreline, visited by travellers attracted by the lake’s immaculate beauty which can be viewed from any vantage point, from the surrounding ski slopes or hike trails that wind through the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountain range.
Another lake worth visiting would be the Dal Lake in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. This Lake has a penchant for visits from philosophers, poets and lovers alike due to it break taking beauty. With a shoreline of 15.5 kilometres, it encompasses a boulevard lined with Mughal era gardens, parks, houseboats and hotels to give the visitor a choicest view. More scenic views of the lake can be witnessed from the shore line Mughal gardens, such as the Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh. But during the winter it has to be noted that the lake freezes as the temperature reaches -11° C point. So the choice is upon the traveller, be it summer or winter but the experience is there to stay.

So be Corona virus or a rain from hell, the human spirit will travel undeterred, and embark on expeditions that his heart desires and this is the ultimate driving force that us humans look for, that restless spirit of travel to go places, and fuel the feeling of spiritual upliftment to triggers the inner healing process, and give the mind the joy of peace and adventure.
