Travelling Alone

Want to travel solo, but don’t have a clue how to go about it, well don’t fret we have some travel tips to share that can get you prepared to satisfy your wanderlust outlook, so you don’t have to wait for your friends who seem too busy to take a break.

Budget Before you go on a trip make a budget, so that whatever you do is within that limit and knowing how much you want to spend is important.

Place to Visit Select your place of interest or if you need more help ask your travel agent to give you information on what promotions are available and what are the ways to travel to that location using rented transport and what are the available means. So if you are a solo type of person then you could opt for using a rented bike, but remember to check for service or pickup points in case you get into any trouble. Also remember that off season excursions are going to give you the best deals on solo travel.

Research Doing your research on the places you choose to visit will save you a bit of trouble later, such as checking the weather patterns around since a bit of rain or cooler temperatures can be passe, instead of stumbling into an upcoming storm. Sometimes keeping a tab on the local social and cultural demographics of a place can also be helpful such as an upcoming festival or event, where crowds would make some roads or places inaccessible.

Cost If you are looking forward to spending more time in a place, then find a longer term accommodation that will be less expensive than renting a hotel room on a per night basis. Another aspect would be to change your search mode, so if you look for ‘search by foot’, which means to find places for rent if you are in a developing world would give you access to more economical places of lodging.

Safety Travelling to some Asian countries could be a bit intimidating due to cultural differences, but you can always check with your Tour guide for assistance or better still, see to it that you have a guide during your excursion to that place. Also check if English is spoken or easily understood by the locals in that country, else you will have to rely on your tour operator to help you along the route.

Best Times to Travel The best times to visit differs between Places depending whether you are a solo traveler or a group, while off season travel to places like Asia or Far East would be favorable from August to October,

What is the Asian & Oceania Place you would prefer to visit?
Each country is different with its diverse places of interest.

Thailand : Here trips are available all the year around, and while the months of November to February are considered peak season with great weather, between March to October are months when travelling solo is possible t since there are fewer crowds around most locations, although it is better to avoid the month of March due to the heat.

Vietnam & Cambodia : Spring is considered a good time to visit Vietnam between months of February to April and during the fall from August to October where temperatures are more moderate and rainfall is lighter.
Cambodia is mostly frequented by travelers between November to March, but as solo traveler the best time to visit the place while it is warm is from May to October.

Indonesia: Indonesia has more than 17000 islands and since the temperatures remain hot and humid all the year around, as a solo traveler it is best to travel during the months of May to October when the weather is dry and also to avoid travel disruptions while moving from one island to another.

New Zealand : Travelling to New Zealand between the months of December to February are suited to most travelers but as a solo traveler the shoulder season before and after peak season is optimal.
